Man arrested in Johor for slashing neck of disabled person


KLUANG: A 45-year-old man was arrested for slashing the neck of a disabled person (OKU) in front of a sundry store in Taman Kluang Barat here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said that the incident occurred at 1.50pm on Sunday (June 30).

“The OKU is a 32-year-old man; he was rushed to the Enche' Besar Hajjah Kalsom Hospital to be treated," he said.

ACP Bahrin added in a statement on Monday (July 1) that the suspect was arrested on the same day at 6.17pm near a petrol station in Taman Bersatu

He said that the suspect confessed to having hurt the victim using a pocket knife.

“The background check revealed that the suspect has prior cases in his criminal record involving crimes and drugs. He tested positive for morphine, said ACP Bahrin

“He also tested positive for morphine,” he added, saying that the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing harm.
