Hajiji launches Sabah Education Sponsorship Portal

KOTA KINABALU: The government launched a "Sabah Education Sponsorship Portal" that combines all main agencies that provide scholarships and assistance for students pursuing higher education.

"It is to help our young Sabahans students," said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor (pic) when launching the portal here Tuesday (July 2).

He said the coalition consisted of the State Public Service Department, Sabah Foundation Group, the Sabah Islamic Religious Council, and agencies providing education aid to the Deputy State Secretary's Office (Special Duties) and the State Baitulmal Corporation.

"This portal will be the official platform for students to apply for education sponsorship in this state.

“Previously, each sponsor handled the sponsorship (application) process independently on their websites. However, with this portal, applications will be integrated into a single platform," he added.

Hajiji said this was also done to ensure that aid was dispensed efficiently and effectively and to overcome the duplication of sponsorship by giving fair opportunities to all students.
