Little girl dies after vehicle crashes into her bike

SEREMBAN: A five-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries after she was hit by a vehicle while cycling around her neighbourhood here.

She died at Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar an hour after the 7pm accident on Sunday.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Hatta Che Din said that preliminary investigations showed that the girl, who was cycling behind a four-wheel-drive vehicle in a residential area, had suddenly swerved into the opposite lane.

“The 34-year-old driver coming from the opposite direction was unable to stop in time and the vehicle crashed into her,” he added.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.

Police have appealed for eyewitnesses to contact investigating officer Insp Fadzilah Ahmad at 016-289 5801 or any police station.
