A TOURIST came under fire after she was accused of sitting on a deer at a Japanese park, China Press reported.
Footage that went viral on the Internet shows a woman, clad in a dark top and denim shorts, sitting atop a deer lying on the ground and posed for pictures.
Online users pointed out that the deer appeared to be in distress and bore a pained expression.
The incident at Nara Park caused an uproar among social media users, many of whom accused the woman of animal abuse.
“A deer is not a chair!” one wrote.
The tourist cleared her name soon after photos of her, taken from other angles, surfaced.
In the pictures, she is seen squatting on the ground and only had her back against the deer.
Nara Park, set up in 1880, is one of the oldest parks in Japan and is home to around 1,400 deer.
> Controversy erupted right after Taiwanese band Accusefive’s We Will Be Fine won the Song of the Year award at the 35th Golden Melody Awards, reported Sin Chew Daily.
Many music lovers were flabbergasted and questioned the judges’ choice. They criticised the ballad for being too slow or boring.
“As a fan of Accusefive, even I don’t think they deserve to win,” one netizen wrote.
However, there were some others who thought the lyrics, which speak of the challenges of modern day life, resonated with the masses.
Accusefive was formed in 2017, with members comprising Pan Yun-an, Tsai Hsin-lun and Richard Lin.
In 2018, the band bagged the Best New Artist title at the Ninth Golden Indie Music Awards. It was also nominated in several categories at the Golden Melody Awards in 2020 and 2021 before finally clinching one last week.
