Sg Bakap Polls: Joohari parodies viral video to promote unity

NIBONG TEBAL: Pakatan Harapan Sungai Bakap candidate Dr Joohari Ariffin parodies a viral video to campaign and promote unity.

The over one-minute long video clip was posted on his Facebook account.

It was based on a video of a one-sided fight between two men at a grocery store in Seberang Jaya.

In the video clip, Joohari is seen "trying" to break up a fight between an Indian man holding a cleaver and a Chinese man.

However, the Indian man's actual intention was to open a durian fruit and share it with the Chinese man.

In the video, Joohari, while eating the durian, said: “This is the way Malaysians should live together in harmony and can move forward.”

"We don't want to fight. We want to be friends," said Joohari.

The original video went viral on June 5. It showed a fight between a Chinese storekeeper and an Indian customer, causing an uproar on social media.

Police detained both men for two days, and they were released on June 8.

Since then, several videos of the two men making peace with each other have been circulating on social media.
