Sg Bakap polls: Umno uses its influence to assist people, says Musa Sheikh Fadzir

NIBONG TEBAL: Despite being labelled power-hungry by its detractors, Umno uses its influence to assist people, says Datuk Musa Sheikh Fadzir (pix).

The Penang Umno chairman said this during a meeting with the people event at Jalan Sungai Kechil on Wednesday (July 3).

Musa, also the state Barisan Nasional chairman, said his president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is not power crazy, but the latter is crazy about his work.

He said the deputy prime minister wanted to work for the people

He also slammed the Opposition for spreading lies.

He said that is why it is important for the voters in Sungai Kechil, one of the district polling stations in the Sungai Bakap by-election, to vote for Pakatan Harapan candidate Dr Joohari Ariffin.

"I request voters in this district to give Joohari an opportunity because he is the candidate representing the unity government," he said.

The programme is part of Umno campaigning machinery for the Sungai Bakap by-election.

In the last state election, Sungai Kechil was one of the six districts that Pakatan lost to Perikatan Nasional.

Among those present were PKR secretary -general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail,Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and Nibong Tebal Umno chief Rashidi Zinol.

Some 300 Umno members, including from the Kuala Kangsar division, attended the event.
