Influencer threatens to sue over donation claims

ACCUSED of pocketing public donations, influencer Aisyah Hijanah denied the allegations and has threatened legal action against her detractors.

Kosmo! reported Aisyah as saying that neither she nor her husband Alif Teega has taken the money for their personal use, nor did they take a 20% commission as alleged.

“I leave it to my lawyer as I’m afraid my statement will be manipulated by others.

“There are also Facebook accounts impersonating me when I only have Instagram and TikTok accounts,” she posted on Instagram, adding that she will take legal action against those who defamed her.

“There will be no other responses from us. We will do things professionally,” she said.

This comes after a social media account post accused Aisyah of carrying out crowdfunding activities for her personal use.

The account also alleged that Aisyah had sensationalised her husband Alif’s second marriage for publicity and sympathy.

> Despite his physical disability, Ab Hamid Othman is still working hard to support his family.

Harian Metro reported that the 50-year-old collects disposed and used items from rubbish bins before reselling them to earn a living.

“I tried looking for a regular job, but things didn’t work out. I’m willing to do this as long as it helps my family,” he said.

Ab Hamid said he is doing this to support his wife and five children and to also pay their rent.

“I tried very hard to secure a job, but employers may be reluctant due to my age, health and disability.

“It’s disappointing because if I have a fixed job, our lives can be better – but this is fate,” said Ab Hamid, whose right hand became disabled six years ago.

While he receives aid from the Welfare Department, Ab Hamid said it is not enough as he has to support many family members.

“I will have to work hard as it’s my responsibility as the head of the family,” he added.
