Senior citizen dies after crash with bus in Bintulu


SIBU: A senior citizen died after the motorcycle he was riding was involved in an accident with a bus in Bintulu on Thursday.

The victim has been identified as Tang Ujum,61.

State Fire and Rescue Department in its daily update said it received a distress call at 7.07am concerning an accident at Mile 12 Jalan Bintulu-Samalaju.

"A total of 16 firefighters from the Bintulu station were immediately dispatched to the scene," said the statement.

When they arrived at the scene, they found the victim and his motorcycle pinned underneath the front part of the bus.

"The victim was pronounced dead on the spot by paramedics. The body has been referred to the police for further action," it added.
