Tamil writer releases third book

LECTURER and Tamil writer Dr Segar Narayanan’s book of short stories was officially launched at a special event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Segar is a lecturer at Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Ipoh.

The author, who spoke at the event held at the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple hall in Kuala Lumpur, said the 15 stories in the book entitled Anbin Aradhanai (Love’s Prayer) were inspired by real people and events he had witnessed.

He said he hoped that the book, his third published work, would benefit the community by providing guidance to teachers, revealing the truth of some historical events, and motivating students.

Local literary patron Dr Jeyabalan Valliappan, who also spoke at the event, said Tamil writers’ associations must work with schools to help nurture young readers and writers.
