PJ cops investigating sodomy claim by foreigner

PETALING JAYA: A 25-year-old foreigner was allegedly sodomised by a local man he met at a condominium's gymnasium here.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulnizam Ja'afar said the victim lodged a police report on Friday (July 5) that he was sodomised by a local man, whom he met at the gymnasium in March.

"The suspect had invited the victim to his condominium unit to talk at about 5pm on Thursday (July 4).

"At the suspect's home, the suspect took off the victim's clothing and touched the victim's body and private parts before sodomising him," he said in a statement on Saturday (July 6).

The victim did not shout for help as he did not want neighbours to know or hear the incident, he said.

"The victim received treatment at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.

"Checks by a medical officer discovered that there was a tear in the victim's anus. He was allowed to go home after treatment," he said.

ACP Shahrulnizam said the case is classified under Section 377B of the Penal Code for unnatural sex.

"We urge those with information to contact the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters' operations room at 03-79662222," he said.
