Anwar pledges RM1mil towards development of Al-Ummah Education complex in Perak

IPOH: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has pledged RM1mil towards the development of the Al-Ummah Education complex in Chepor near here.

He said this was an initial fund approved for the construction of the building.

“For now this amount is approved, and we will look at how we can help further.

“Within a week or two the allocation will be in,” he said in his speech at the visit to the complex on Saturday (July 8).

The first phase of the building started in 2016, with the groundbreaking ceremony in 2020.

The first phase of the building is in the midst of development with a cost of RM6mil, and the management has plans to expand the building that would cost RM35mil.

The building is developed to deal with the density of students and teachers for the three institutions after 36 years of operation, namely its pre-school, primary and the Madrasah with almost 2,200 people.
