Serian cops on the hunt for suspect after three men hurt in shooting


PETALING JAYA: The police are on the lookout for a suspect believed to have shot three victims using a shotgun in Serian, Sarawak, early Monday morning.

Padawan OCPD Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, in a statement, said police had received a report from a 26-year-old man at 1.57am Monday (July 8), informing them that three of his friends had been shot behind a supermarket at the 19th Mile, Jalan Kuching-Serian.

"The three victims, aged from 24 to 25 years old, suffered injuries to the body in the incident. They are currently being treated at Sarawak General Hospital and are reported to be stable," Supt Irwan said.

He added that police are on the hunt for the suspect and the case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code and Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971.
