Work together and with me to battle corruption and racism - PM Anwar

IPOH: A lot of work is required to save the country from corruption and racism, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said it was a major task to ensure that the country was free from “ridiculous” racial issues.

“As long as I am the Prime Minister I will do everything possible to save this country.

“Trust me we have to work really hard to save the country from both corruption and racial tensions,” he said in his speech after meeting with the Tambun parliamentary seat’s Indian community at the Chemor Community Hall here today. (July 8)

“We all have to work together, and everyone must understand that in this country we must protect the interests of everybody.

“The country is entering a new era, which is the digital age, as well as the era of Artificial Intelligence.

“Our children must be given the best in computers, and they must have good teachers. Otherwise, we will be left out, and our children of all races who are our future will not get the best.

“So it is my appeal to make this country a better place, and I will continue to repeat this without hesitation,” he added.

Anwar said no matter what was said, it was paramount to save the country from “greedy leaders” who have been stealing money from this country.

He added in his speech that it was equally vital to save the country’s multi-cultural fabric from being torn by the words of racists and religious fanatics, which existed in all races.

“If we leave it to them, this country will be destroyed,” he added.
