Report lodged over TikTok account misusing Selangor Raja Muda’s name


PETALING JAYA: A police report has been lodged over a fake TikTok account, which used the profile photo and name of Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said a police report was lodged by the Selangor Palace on the matter on Monday (July 8).

"The Selangor Palace lodged the report after discovering the TikTok account did not belong to the Raja Muda of Selangor. It is confirmed to be fake," he said in a statement on Tuesday (July 9).

Comm Hussein advised the public not to set up any social media accounts involving the royal institution.

"It is to prevent any irresponsible individual from misusing photos and videos of the royalty," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code, he said.
