POLICE in India could not settle a dispute between two farmers over the ownership of a water buffalo, so the officers decided to let the animal “take charge” instead, Makkal Osai reported.
The officers devised a plan in which both farmers stood on the road leading to their villages and released the buffalo between them.
The bull started following the farmer named Nanthlal back to Ashkaranpur village in Uttar Pradesh.
As such, the case of the missing bull was declared closed.
The battle over the water buffalo began when one of Nanthlal’s bulls went missing.
After a three-day search, he spotted the animal in a neighbouring village.
His attempts to claim the water buffalo were rebuffed by another farmer, Hanuman Saroj, who insisted that the animal was his.
