SAR ongoing for man who fell from Johor's Second Link bridge


ISKANDAR PUTERI: A search and rescue (SAR) operation has been launched after a man fell into the sea from the Second Link bridge between Johor and Singapore.

Iskandar Puteri fire station operations commander Ishak Noh said a distress call was received at 7.17am on Wednesday (July 10) morning.

“We deployed one Rescue Tender (FRT) vehicle with seven firemen to the Second Link bridge and they arrived at 7.34am.

“According to a witness, a man fell into the Johor Strait from the bridge. We also found a motorcycle on the bridge,” he said.

Ishak added that the SAR was underway to find the motorcyclist, who is in his 40s.
