Immigration arrests 50 foreigners in massage parlour raids in KL


PETALING JAYA: More than 50 foreigners were arrested by the Immigration Department following raids at massage parlours in Kuala Lumpur.

Immigration director-general Datuk Ruslin Jusoh said in a statement on Sunday (14 July) that five massage parlours were raided on July 10.

91 people were inspected, and 56 foreigners from Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand and Sudan were detained for various offences.

"Also detained were two locals that we believe to be the caretakers of the premises," he said.

The operation, he added, was launched after complaints from the public. It was suspected that immoral activities were being conducted under the guise of the massage parlour.
