Nur Farah Kartini's alleged boyfriend remanded seven days to assist in murder probe


KUALA LUMPUR: A man believed to be the boyfriend of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah, 25, who is suspected of murdering the woman, has been remanded for seven days to assist in the investigation of the case, Malay language daily Sinar Harian reports.

The remand order for the 26-year-old male suspect, who is a civil servant, was issued by Judge Nurul Mardhiah Mohammed Redza.

The investigation is being conducted under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

It is understood that the suspect was arrested at the Gedangsa police station in Hulu Selangor.

The suspect, dressed in police lockup attire, arrived at the Kuala Kubu Baru court complex in a police vehicle at 8.53am.

On Monday (July 15), Sinar Harian reported that Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan announced that the woman's body was found at an oil palm plantation in Kampung Sri Kledang at around 6pm.

Initial investigations indicated that the body was believed to be that of a missing person reported in Tanjung Malim, Perak on July 11.

Nur Farah Kartini, who hails from Miri, Sarawak, was reported missing after delivering a rental car to her customer in Taman Universiti, Tanjung Malim.

The last time the victim was seen, she was wearing blue corporate attire, a headscarf, and black slacks.
