Four-year-old falls to her death in Putrajaya

PUTRAJAYA: A four-year-old girl fell to her death from the 16th floor of an apartment here.

OCPD Asst Comm A. Asmadi Abd Aziz said police received an MERS 999 call about it at 7.50am yesterday.

Initial investigations found that the incident occurred when the girl was home alone after her father left her unattended to drop her eldest sister at school nearby.

The victim’s mother, a kindergarten teacher, was at work.

“The victim is the youngest of two siblings. It is a daily routine for her to be left alone asleep, before being sent to the nursery on the ground floor of the block,” he said yesterday.

ACP A. Asmadi said police found bloodstains in the lobby of the building, where the victim was found to have fallen, and had placed cones around the area.

The body was taken to Putrajaya Hospital’s forensic unit for a post-mortem.
