Perak police waiting for outcome of S'gor murder investigation before taking action

KUALA LUMPUR: The Perak police are waiting for the outcome of the investigation involving a policeman attached to the state contingent in connection with the murder of a former Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) student before taking any internal action.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Azizi Mat Aris said that any internal action depends on the outcome of the investigation conducted by the Selangor police.

"For now, he has not been pulled from duty or suspended pending the investigation. The process will be conducted when he is charged in court," he said when contacted on Wednesday (July 17).

Comm Azizi previously said that the suspect has served in the police force for five years.

The 26-year-old Lance Corporal at the Slim River police station has been remanded for seven days to assist with the investigation.

The body of 25-year-old victim Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah was found at about 6pm on Monday (July 15) and she had been reported missing since last week.
