Man murdered, body torched over RM7,000 debt, say Kajang cops

KAJANG: A 28-year-old man was murdered and his body then torched in Semenyih due to a RM7,000 debt.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof said the victim's burnt body was discovered in the bushes near the Semenyih Dam at 10.07am on June 23.

"Upon investigation and public information, we detained four men aged between 18 and 44 years old at Batu 14 in Hulu Langat on July 11.

"All suspects tested positive for methamphetamine and two of them had prior criminal records," he said in a statement on Thursday (July 18).

ACP Naazron said the motive behind the murder was the victim owing one of the suspects RM7,000.

"The suspect was also the victim's friend," he said,

Three of the suspects will be charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder at the Kajang Court Complex on Friday (July 19) while another suspect was made a prosecution witness, he said.

ACP Naazron advised the public to be careful and not to resort to anything that is against the law.

"We also urge the public to cooperate with the police by supplying information on any criminal incident or activity," he said.
