MMA welcomes amendments to Medical Act


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) welcomes the Medical Act amendments and describes it as a milestone.

MMA president Dr Azizan Abdul Aziz praised the leadership demonstrated throughout the process. The government engaged with various stakeholders to shape these amendments, ensuring the best interests of both the medical community and the public.

"MMA also commends the MPs for their foresight in supporting these amendments.

"We would like to specifically recognise the tireless efforts of key Health Ministry officials, Higher Education Ministry, Malaysian Qualifications Agency and Attorney General Chambers," said Dr Azizan in a statement on Thursday (July 18).

"These amendments mark a new chapter in Malaysian healthcare, and we believe they will contribute significantly to elevating the quality of healthcare in Malaysia, ensuring patient safety and maintaining the high standards of the medical profession,” she added.
