Penang cops hunt for Myanmar national for allegedly murdering wife


BALIK PULAU: Police are looking for a Myanmar national believed to be a suspect in the murder of a foreign woman, believed to be his wife in a flat, here on Wednesday.

Balik Pulau OCPD Supt Kamarul Rizal Jenal said police received a call from the public at 9.15pm on Wednesday (July 17) informing them a woman was found in a pool of blood on the third floor of Taman Indah Flat.

"Initial investigation found that the victim, a woman believed to be a foreign national in her 30s, was lying on her back on the sidewalk of the 3rd floor of the flat," he said in a statement on Thursday (July 18).

Supt Kamarul said an initial examination of the victim's body revealed stab wounds on the neck, chest, and legs, suspected to be caused by a sharp weapon.

He said police are looking for 34-year-old Khin Mg Myo, the suspect in the case classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
