Global IT outage: Longer waiting times at hospital with computer systems affected

PETALING JAYA: Some hospital patients are complaining of longer than usual waiting times due to the disruption of computer systems.

A hospital patient in Kuala Lumpur, Ruth Campbell, 86, said she had to wait about two hours for her treatment after she was told that the computer systems were down.

"The nurses looked stressed and they were running around doing their best to keep things under control. As soon as the system came back at around 3.30pm, everything went back to normal," she said.

Meanwhile, in Melaka, Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre said it was currently experiencing server disruption due to the global IT issue.

"Our management team is actively working to resolve the situation promptly and will provide updates accordingly," it said.
