Man arrested over kidnapping of two girls in Kuala Selangor


KUALA SELANGOR: A man who allegedly kidnapped two children here has been arrested.

Acting Kuala Selangor OCPD Dept Supt Mohd Ambia Nordin said a 32-year-old suspect was arrested in Jeram at 2.40am on Sunday (July 21).

"We are still investigating the motive behind the kidnapping," he said in a statement on Sunday.

DSP Mohd Ambia said that the suspect had a prior criminal record for burglary and has since been remanded for five days.

"The public is advised to always ensure that children are monitored when they are outside," he said.

On July 19, two girls aged six and eight were kidnapped by a man at Taman Ikan Emas. They were later found near their house in Taman Kelisa at around 7.45pm.
