PETALING JAYA: In conjunction with the installation of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Prime Minister and his Cabinet took the opportunity to congratulate the Royal couple.
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was among the first to convey his best wishes on social media.
“May Allah bless Tuanku’s reign and (shall it) continue being at the highest pinnacle in the country’s Federal Constitution, along with the function of the royal institution as the protector of Islam and a symbol of the unity and wellbeing of all races in this country.
“The people and I will continue to give our undivided loyalty to the royal institution. Daulat Tuanku!” he posted on Facebook.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi also posted his wishes on Facebook.
“Congratulations to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim in conjunction with his installation as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
“May Allah bless His Majesty’s reign,” he posted on Facebook, accompanied by a poster of the King and Queen.
Along with his congratulatory wishes, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof also prayed for His Majesty to always be bestowed with grace and blessings, and that Malaysia will continue as a sovereign and developed nation during Sultan Ibrahim’s reign.
“May His Majesty remain steadfast on the throne with greatness, sovereignty, and prosperity and rule with justice and fairness.
“I pray for His Majesty to always be blessed,” he said.
Ministers also took the opportunity to express their congratulatory messages to the King through social media.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin prayed that the King’s reign would be blessed.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, who chaired the Special Committee for the King’s Installation Events, shared a poem expressing the King’s stature amongst his subjects.
The poem said His Majesty was akin to an umbrella that shielded the subjects.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said also took a creative route in her congratulatory message by sharing a poem which conveyed a similar message.
Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu pledged undivided loyalty to the monarch as the protector of Islam and the symbol of unity amongst all the races in the country.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa also shared a prayer for Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, as well as the Royal Family, to always receive blessings, grace and guidance.
