Four Teluk Intan juveniles suspected of raping 11-year-old released on police bail, says Hilir Perak cops


IPOH: Four boys who were arrested for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl near Teluk Intan on multiple occasions, have been released on police bail.

Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Adnan Basri said the four individuals, aged between 14 and 17, were released on Sunday (July 23) after their three-day remand period ended.

"The investigation papers will be submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor's office for further instructions," he said, adding that juveniles could not be remanded for more than seven days.

"If we get the green light from the DPP, we will proceed with the charges," he said when contacted today (July 22).

Last Thursday (July 18), a police report was lodged at the Langkap police station against four boys over the alleged incident.

The victim, a pupil at a Teluk Intan school, claimed that two of the boys, aged 16 and 14 took turns to rape her on July 17 at about 6.30 pm inside a car, after going out out with them to a waterfall.

The third individual, 17, was alleged to have raped her on July 18 at about 8.30pm, when she followed him back home.

The fourth individual, also 17, was suspected of raping the victim among some bushes during an outing on July 18 at about 12.30am.

ACP Ahmad Adanan said all four teenagers, from Teluk Intan, have admitted to the crime.

“The first and third suspects, aged 16 and 17, are not schooling, while the second and fourth suspects, aged 14 and 17 are still schooling.
