Johor reps appeal for public help to look for missing six-year-old girl

JOHOR BARU: State government officials and local residents are appealing to the public to help look for six-year-old Albertine Leo Jia Hui who went missing last Saturday (July 20) in Iskandar Puteri.

Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi (pic) and other state assemblymen have made a public call for help via their social media pages.

“The police are making every effort to locate and track down the missing child. I urge anyone who has information or comes across this child to immediately report to the nearest police station," said Onn Hafiz.

Skudai assemblyman Marina Ibrahim hoped that the victim will be quickly found and has urged the public to pray for her safety.

“I grew up during the case of missing child Tin Song Sheng. Back then, there were no social media sites, but the news of his disappearance was everywhere.

“There were a lot of posters being posted in public buses. I am also asking my friends to look for an update on social media,” she said on her Facebook page.

Tin, a seven-year-old boy, was abducted from his school, SJKC Taman Rasah in Seremban, Negri Sembilan after he was last seen leaving the school compound with a woman.

Meanwhile, Pekan Nanas assemblyman Tan Eng Meng has also made a Facebook post urging for public cooperation in channelling information about the whereabouts of the girl.

“We hope that the general public can help and look for her,” he said.

Meanwhile, a Facebook user under the name of Siew Hui Chung has offered RM10,000 to anyone who finds the missing girl.

“Those who can find her, please bring her to the Six Cafe Borneo in Taman Stulang Laut and claim the RM10,000 reward,” he added.
