Suspected kidnapper arrested

KUALA SELANGOR: A man who allegedly absconded with two children has been arrested.

In a statement yesterday, acting Kuala Selangor OCPD Deputy Supt Mohd Ambia Nordin said a report was lodged on July 19 about two girls, aged six and eight, being abducted by a man when they were playing in Taman Ikan Emas.

The girls were found near their home in Taman Kelisa at about 7.45pm.

“At around 2.40am today (yesterday), the 32-year-old suspect was arrested at a house in Jeram.

“There was no attempt to run and he cooperated,” DSP Mohd Ambia said, adding that checks showed that the suspect has a prior record of breaking into a house to commit burglary.

He added that a five-day remand order was obtained yesterday.
