Twenty-five victims of investment scam lodge police report in Bayan Lepas

GEORGE TOWN: Twenty-five victims of an investment scam lodged police reports against an investment company for allegedly offering them a non-existent investment scheme amounting to RM5mil.

The reports were logged at the Bayan Lepas police station on Monday (July 22) after the victims sought help from the Malaysian International Humanitarian Organisation (MHO).

The organisation’s secretary-general, Datuk Hishamuddin Hashim, said the investments offered were fraudulent and illegal as they were not approved by the Security Commission.

He said his organisation had received 90 complaints of investment scams with losses amounting to RM20mil from all over Malaysia.
