IPOH: The four boys arrested for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl near Teluk Intan have been released on police bail.
Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Adnan Basri said the four individuals, aged between 14 and 17, were released on Sunday after their three-day remand period ended. He explained that the juveniles could not be remanded for more than seven days.“If we get the green light from the DPP, we will proceed with the charges,” he said when contacted yesterday.
On July 18, a police report was lodged at the Langkap police station against four boys over the alleged incident.
The victim, a pupil, claimed that two of the boys, aged 16 and 14, took turns to rape her at about 6.30pm on July 17 inside a car, after she went with them to a waterfall.
The third individual, 17, was alleged to have also raped the victim at about 8.30pm on July 18 when she followed him home.
The fourth individual, also 17, was said to have raped the victim near a bush area while they were on an outing on July 18 at about 12.30am.
According to ACP Ahmad Adnan, all four teenagers, who hail from Teluk Intan, had admitted to the crime.
