Johor MCA expresses gratitude for finding missing girl

JOHOR BARU: The Johor MCA has expressed immense gratitude to Malaysians for their support and assistance in the search operation for the missing six-year-old girl, Albertine Leo Jia Hui.

Johor MCA chief information officer Tan Hiang Kee said the party reached out to the victim’s parents immediately after learning about the incident and actively participated in the search efforts.

"We extend our heartfelt thanks to the police for their diligent efforts in investigating and successfully locating Albertine Leo within 48 hours.

"Johor MCA’s deputy chairman Ling Tian Soon also reached out to Albertine's mother and family to offer support right after she was reported missing.

"The party, along with the Women’s, Youth, and Crisis Relief Squad Malaysia (CRSM) divisions, actively participated in the search efforts," she said in a statement here on Tuesday (July 23).

With accurate information, the police were able to find Albertine in Selangor, leading to the arrest of five individuals — three men and two women, she added.

Albertine has now been taken to the hospital for medical examination and is in stable condition, said Tan.

Tan also mentioned that the public can contact the Johor Public Service and Complaints Bureau at 011-6251 5678 for assistance with any issues they may face.

Meanwhile, Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) National Women’s chief and Kemelah assemblyman N. Saraswati said Albertine’s case has shaken the country over the past few days.

"I want to thank the Johor Police for their swift action in handling the case, which led to the safe recovery of the missing child early this morning (July 23).

"Congratulations and well done to the police," she added.

Saraswati added that Malaysians should continue cooperating with the police and provide any useful information to assist in the investigation.

"The safety of our children is a shared responsibility, and we all need to work together to ensure that incidents like this do not happen again.

"The disappearance of Albertine should serve as a sad reminder of the need to remain vigilant and take greater care in safeguarding the safety of our children, wherever they are.

"This collaborative effort highlights the importance of community vigilance and support in ensuring the safety and well-being of our children," she said.
