Superbiker killed, two hurt after crashing into MPV on KL-Karak highway


GOMBAK: A superbike rider was killed after he rammed into the back of a compact multi-purpose vehicle at the KL-Karak Expressway on Wednesday (July 24).

Two other superbike riders were also injured in the incident as well.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the incident occurred at about 1am at KM22.8 of the expressway.

"Investigations showed that the 47-year-old superbike rider had accidentally hit the back of the compact MPV.

"The impact of the collision caused the rider to fall off the superbike before hitting two other superbikes ridden by a 46-year-old man and a 27-year-old man," he said in a statement today.

The first rider died at the scene while the other two riders were sent to Selayang and Kuala Lumpur hospitals for treatment, he added.

"We are investigating under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1087.
