Road closure in Ipoh during state-level Hari Pahlawan celebration

IPOH: Several roads in the city will be closed in preparation for the Perak state-level Hari Pahlawan celebration.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said that the road closures would take place on July 31 from 7am and will remain in effect until the event concludes at the state secretariat building.

"The closures are necessary to ensure the smooth running of the event, which aims to honour the contributions of the nation's warriors," he said in a statement on Thursday (July 25).

The roads affected included Jalan Kuala Kangsar and the sliproad into Jalan Raja Musa Aziz near the Perak Islamic Religious Department Syariah law enforcement division office, Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab and Jalan St John.

ACP Abang Zainal Abidin said rehearsals for the event would also be held from July 28 to July 30, at 7am.

"Road closures during these rehearsals will be implemented in phases and will be adjusted based on the immediate requirements," he said.

"The people and road users are urged to plan their journeys in advance to avoid traffic congestion," he added.
