14-year-old girl and woman badly hurt in multi-vehicle accident in Ranau


KOTA KINABALU: An accident involving four vehicles in Ranau district on Friday (July 26) saw two severely injured while nine others escaped unhurt.

The Fire and Rescue Department initially received a distress call at 6.44pm about the incident in front of a petrol station near Ranau town.

“The mishap involving multiple vehicles including a trailer lorry, saw a 14-year-old girl from one of the cars several injured and a 51-year-old woman from another vehicle also sustaining serious injuries.

“The victims were sent to the district hospital using an ambulance.

“After ensuring no more risks, the operation ended at 7.10pm,” said the department spokesman.
