PETALING JAYA: An alcoholic beverage company's sponsorship to a Chinese school in Sepang, Selangor, was for a charity concert and not a direct donation to the school, said Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The Deputy Prime Minister explained that the event was organised by the school's parent-teacher association (PTA) and the school board.
"There was no mention of contributions from alcohol companies to schools (Chinese schools)," he said during a press conference at the Desaru Convention Centre here on Friday (July 26).
