Four nabbed over seven housebreaking cases in Johor

KULAI: Police have arrested four local men suspected of involvement in seven house break-ins here as well as in Pontian and Seri Alam.

Kulai OCPD Supt Tan Seng Lee said the suspects, aged between 41 and 55, were picked up during raids in two different locations in Johor Baru.

“They were apprehended between 9.20pm and 11.20pm on July 12 following information on their whereabouts," he said in a statement on Friday (July 26).

Supt Tan said the arrests were made following a report lodged by a 34-year-old programmer on July 10.

“The victim stated that her house was broken into and all her jewellery was missing," he said.

Supt Tan said police also seized mobile phones, a laptop, a tablet, a bag, housebreaking tools and two cars, one of which was reported missing in Pantai Remis, Perak.

“We also discovered fake car number plates we believed they used during their robberies," he said.

Supt Tan said all the suspects have criminal records and tested positive for drugs.

The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house trespass or housebreaking.
