ACTOR Zul Ariffin (pic) has denied that his compatibility with Infinitus Entertainment producer Gayatri Su-lin Pillai made him the golden child of the production company, Kosmo! reported.
Zul, whose real name is Zulkifli Ariffin, said Gayatri is someone who always found it “extremely difficult” to approve his name for film projects.
“Usually, she (Gayatri) proposes other actors instead of me. I have also always reminded myself that I will only take up a role if it fits me. I want to stand on my own two feet without depending on others,” he was quoted as saying.
He stressed that he was not someone who would lobby for acting roles.
Zul, on the other hand, did not deny how his compatibility saw him constantly working for the same production house.
“For me, it’s not an issue. I’m unbothered if people label me as the golden child. I only give my best for what is required,” he said.
> Singer Yaph is adamant about keeping his face hidden during public appearances as he wants fans to appreciate his music instead of knowing what he looks like.
Harian Metro reported that Yaph also believed his “mysterious” appearance would not be a barrier to garnering more fans.
“It’s not a marketing strategy. I’ve always felt more comfortable this way, because I want people to appreciate my work.
“I’m somewhat of an introvert, and if people say I’m trying to hide my face, it’s true. Thankfully, my fans show respect for my appearance,” he said.
Yaph, who is also a songwriter and producer, has kept his appearance hidden ever since breaking onto the scene several years ago.
In public, the singer always dons a hat and wears a full face cover to hide his features.
