Umno does not need leaders ‘bankrupt’ with ideas, says Zafrul

PETALING JAYA: Umno needs leaders with fresh ideas to protect the people, safeguard the economy and ensure a better future for all, says Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.

Speaking to Tanjung Umno division delegates in George Town, Penang, the party supreme council member said that Umno does not need leaders who were “bankrupt” of ideas.

"The people are fed up with leaders who are constantly preoccupied with politics.

"They want leaders who care about their issues and have a vision for their children," he said on Facebook on Saturday (July 27).

Without naming any individual, he said that some leaders talked about trivial matters, attacked each other, and discussed personal agendas.

"This is the talk of those who are barren of ideas," he said.

"We need to prove to the people that Umno has fresh ideas to safeguard their welfare, boost the economy, and ensure a better future for their children.

"Only then will the people return to believing in Umno.

"Can we do it? I am confident we can, and if leaders do not want to change, Umno members must reprimand them for the sake of our revered party," he said.
