Mother and son injured in knife attack in KL


KUALA LUMPUR: A mother and her young son suffered knife wounds after a failed attempt to get her husband to agree to a divorce.

In a statement on Tuesday (July 30), Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said that the police received information about the incident on July 27.

"The victims are a 33-year-old woman and her six-year-old son. Investigations showed that an argument occurred with the suspect after he did not agree to the divorce. Both suffered 'deep laceration wounds' from the argument.”

"On July 28 at around 12.15am, the police arrested a 33-year-old man in Jalan Pandan Ilmu in Pandan Indah. Two knives, believed to have been used during the incident, were seized," he said.
