JOHOR BARU: Mahkota assemblywoman Datuk Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain is in a stable condition, says Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
In a Facebook post, the Johor Mentri Besar added that he went to visit Sharifah Azizah after learning about her being warded at Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Kluang Hospital due to internal bleeding.
“While visiting her, I had the chance to meet her children. I also obtained information and explanations from the doctor about Sharifah's condition and was informed that her condition is stable but needs to be monitored.
“Let's all pray that Sharifah Azizah, who is facing this health test, will be given a speedy recovery and all matters will be made easy by Allah. God willing,” he added.
Meanwhile, Kluang MP Wong Shu Qi said she also paid a visit to Sharifah Azizah at the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU) earlier on Wednesday (July 31) evening.
She said that on Wednesday, both she and Sharifah Azizah discussed several developments in the Mahkota state constituency before her hospitalisation.
“She is showing positive responses and her condition is getting better. Let’s pray that Sharifah Azizah can get better just like before,” she added.
Earlier, Sharifah Azizah was in critical condition and is being treated at Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Kluang Hospital due to health issues.
It is learned that the 63-year-old two-term assemblywoman was brought to the hospital by her family on Tuesday (July 30) night due to her health condition.
It is also learned that Sharifah Azizah is currently being treated at the hospital’s ICU as the medical team has put her to sleep.
Johor Umno secretary Datuk Abdul Halim Suleiman, who is also the Tebrau division chief, confirmed the matter saying that Sharifah Azizah's situation was critical.
“Indeed, she is currently being warded at the hospital and her health condition is quite critical,” he added.
Sharifah Azizah, who is also the Kluang Umno division Wanita chief, is the former Johor Umno Wanita chief.
She won the Mahkota state seat during the Johor state election in 2022. Before that, Sharifah Azizah was the Penawar assemblyman from 2018 to 2022.
