KLANG: One of the two Selangor state government-linked companies accused of organising a retreat to Perth, Australia, for its executives says the trip has not been finalised.
Kumpulan Hartanah Selangor Berhad (KHSB) issued a statement saying that the proposed trip, scheduled from Aug 23 to 27, was merely a proposal during an internal discussion and has not been approved by the board of directors.
"In the event it is implemented, it would be as part of a technical delegation aligned with the company’s focus on housing and real estate development, including the latest innovations in the industry," said the statement.
The proposed trip was highlighted by a news portal on Sunday (July 28).
The press statement also said the 'allegation' in the report did not provide a clear picture and appeared to have an intent to spread falsehoods.
It added that the report insinuated that KHSB intended to travel overseas solely for its Board of Directors meeting, which was deemed illogical and slanderous against the company.
The company stated its commitment to ensuring an administration that is transparent and driven by integrity at all levels.
Meanwhile, the media report had alleged that the proposed four-day retreat was an 'all-expenses-paid sightseeing tour' with 'plenty of free and easy time.'
The report further alleged that besides KHSB, another state-owned company was scheduled to go on the trip, with Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari also being on the list of guests.
The report claimed that both companies would have their board meetings separately the day after their arrival and would go on a technical visit to Fremantle before returning home.
