Tunku Azizah heads honours list

KUANTAN: Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Almarhum Sultan Iskandar heads the list of 24 recipients of state honours in conjunction with the 65th birthday of the Sultan of Pahang.

Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah conferred the Sri Setia Al-Sultan Abdullah Ahmad Shah (SAAS) on Tunku Azizah and eight other recipients at an investiture ceremony held at Balai Mahkota, Istana Abdulaziz, here yesterday.

Also receiving the newly introduced SAAS award – which carries the title Datuk Seri Setia – were Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah, Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri’ayatuddin Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah, Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Iman Afzan Al-Sultan Abdullah, as well as Tengku Arif Temenggung Tengku Fahad Mua’adzam Shah Al-Marhum Sultan Ahmad Shah.

The other recipients of the SAAS award were Tengku Puteri Seri Teja Puan Sri Tengku Muhaini Al-Marhum Sultan Ahmad Shah, Tengku Puteri Seri Kemala Tengku Datuk Seri Aishah Al-Marhum Sultan Ahmad Shah, Tengku Puteri Seri Lela Manja Tengku Datuk Seri Nong Fatimah Al-Marhum Sultan Ahmad Shah, as well as Tengku Puteri Seri Bongsu Tengku Datuk Seri Shahariah Al-Marhum Sultan Ahmad Shah.

During the event, Sultan Abdullah also conferred the Darjah Kerabat Sri Indera Mahkota Pahang Yang Amat Di Hormati to Prince Ali Al Hussein of Jordan.

Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail was conferred the Sri Diraja Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (SDSA), which carries the title Datuk Seri Diraja.

The Sultan also bestowed the Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (SSAP) honour – which carries the title Datuk Seri – on the Pahang state legal adviser Datuk Saiful Edris Zainuddin, Prime Minister’s Department Public-Private Partnership Unit director-general Datuk Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, as well as Royal Malaysian Air Force Deputy Chief Lt-Jen Datuk Indera Muhamad Norazlan Aris.

Other recipients of the SSAP were Felcra Bhd chairman Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub, National Heart Institute (IJN) cardiothoracic and vascular surgery department head Datuk Dr Alwi Mohamed Yunus and the department’s senior consultant Datuk Dr Mohamed Ezani Md Taib, as well as Ancom Nylex Bhd consultant Datuk Ahmad Johari Abdul Razak.

The two recipients of the Sri Indera Mahkota Pahang (SIMP) – which carries the title Datuk Indera – were Malaysian High Commissioner to Singapore Datuk Dr Azfar Mohamad Mustafar and secretary-general of the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity, United Arab Emirates, Datuk Dr Khalid Ghanim AlGaith.

Malaysian Ambassador to Italy Zahid Rastam, Pahang works, transport and health committee chairman Razali Kassim, and Asian Perlite Industries Sdn Bhd director Lukman Runia Albert were awarded the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP), which carries the title Datuk.

The sole recipient of the Setia Al-Sultan Abdullah Pahang (SAS) honour was Brig-Jen (Rtd) Farid Moh’d Ali Hajamat Qat, who is an aide to Prince Ali Al Hussein.
