Two maids caught on camera for sneaking unknown men into employer's house

PETALING JAYA: Two maids were caught on camera allowing two men to secretly enter their employer's home and hide in the maids' room while the employer and his wife were upstairs.

On July 29, Dr Shazril Shaharuddin arrived home around 9.20pm after a haircut.

"As I was about to enter, I noticed two unknown men standing outside.

"I didn't think much of it because many people go in and out of my residence area.

"My wife then left for work at 9.40pm and my kids and I sent her off at the door.

"That was when my neighbour in front came and alerted me that he saw two men had gone into my house," he said in an Instagram post, which has since gone viral.

Dr Shazril said he did not believe it at first as he was at home during that time.

"But when I remembered the two unknown men earlier I was taken aback."

Concerned, Dr Shazril questioned the maids, and one eventually admitted the men had already left.

However, when Dr Shazril told his wife, she was worried the intruders could still be in the house.

"So I decided to check our home's security footage."

The footage revealed the shocking truth - two men were let in and never left.

"One of the maids put a bottle in front of the camera at 8.36pm to block the view. Then the second maid turned the camera away at 8.40pm, facing the television.

"It was at 9.25pm when two men were allowed in when I was already home and my wife upstairs."

Worried for the safety of his children, including his baby the maids were caring for, Dr Shazril decided to call the police at 11.10pm.

"When my wife is on call once a week, we let the maids care for and sleep with our baby when I take care of our two sons," he said, adding that three patrol officers arrived ten minutes later.

They also raided the maids' room when Dr Shazril's call to his maids was not answered.

They found the men shirtless in the maids' room.

Following the incident, Dr Shazril expressed deep concern, questioning what could have happened if the baby had cried and provoked a violent reaction.

"I gave my maids a sound scolding, telling them I was extremely disappointed... for exposing my children to unknown strangers.

"What if my baby had cried in their room and they may want to harm my baby?"

He also terminated the maids' employment, issuing a public message about the importance of caution when hiring domestic helpers.

"The lesson I learned from this is to trust no one... and always be strict."

Dr Shazril added that he was thankful the maids' attempt was thwarted and his family remained safe.
