MyBrain 2.0 sponsorship programme applications starts today

PETALING JAYA: The Higher Education Ministry has announced the first phase of the MyBrain 2.0 sponsorship programme, previously known as MyBrain15.

“In the first phase, the MyBrain 2.0 programme targets individuals who are not employed or do not have a stable income, as well as lecturers from private higher education institutions, to pursue further education at 20 public universities,” the ministry said in a statement Thursday (Aug 1).

The public may apply for the sponsorship online from 3pm Thursday until 11.59pm Wednesday (Aug 21) through the MyBrain 2.0 application system via https://biasiswa.mohe.gov.my/MyBrain2

The sponsorship programme offers wider access to education for all Malaysians who are qualified to continue their master's and doctoral degree studies.

“In line with the government's aspirations in empowering the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), the MyBrain 2.0 will focus on helping students pursue advanced studies in these areas, as well as in Social Science and professional literature," it said.

The MyBrain 2.0 sponsorship programme, the statement read, also covers both tuition fees and living expenses.

“The financial support offered under this programme is one of the government's initiatives to ease the financial burden of students while also producing graduates with marketable value,” the statement read, adding that the MyBrain 2.0 programme is an important platform in supporting the development of the country's human capital.
