Larkin Sentral Bus Terminal in need of upgrades, says Johor MB

JOHOR BARU: The Larkin Sentral Bus Terminal requires upgrades so it can fulfil its role as an important transportation hub, says Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

The Johor Mentri Besar said he received several suggestions to improve the terminal during an impromptu visit last Friday (July 26).

"I made a surprise visit to Larkin Sentral to inspect and ensure that all facilities here are functioning well, as well as to assess the operational efficiency of the terminal.

"I also took note of public complaints and some suggestions that could improve and enhance its operations.

"These include upgrading and repairing the roof at the bus platform, improving the ventilation system in the bus terminal area, providing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and upgrading bus driver restrooms," he said in a statement on Friday (Aug 2).

He added that Larkin Sentral had been categorised as a Grade B terminal by the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad) and is currently working towards Grade A status.

"This station is an important transportation hub which connects various destinations domestically and internationally, with about 18,000 users every day.

"This makes it a crucial hub for passenger movement for local and international travel," he said.
