Sharifah Azizah a strong female 'warrior' who cared deeply for the people, says Zahid

JOHOR BARU: The country has lost a strong female leader who cared about the people, says Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The Deputy Prime Minister said he had just visited Mahkota assemblyman Datuk Sharifah Azizah Syed Zainon Friday (Aug 2) morning and was praying hard for her to pull through.

"With all my heart, I prayed and hoped that she would recover and continue her struggle with us.

"We have lost a female warrior who was very committed and loyal to the party and deeply concerned about the community.

"My deepest condolences to the entire family. May you have the strength to endure this loss," he said in a Facebook post on Friday (Aug 2).

Earlier, Ahmad Zahid, who is also Umno president, visited the late Sharifah Azizah at the hospital with Kluang MP Wong Shu Qi and Mengkibol assemblyman Chew Chong Sin.

Sharifah Azizah passed away after being hospitalised for about three days after suffering breathing difficulties.
