A CAFE in Klang sparked a heated debate online for launching a bak kut teh-flavoured ice cream, reported China Press.
The cafe near Klang’s Little India has been known for its fusion delicacies, having launched bak kut teh spaghetti, agar-agar and risotto in the past, with the latest being bak kut teh-flavoured ice cream.
“An ice cream topped with bak kut teh sauce and spring onion. Japan also sells ice cream with spring onion. This means the concept could work,” one netizen wrote.
However, many others do not share the same enthusiasm, saying that the bak kut teh and ice cream should not go together.
As a precaution, the cafe has added a warning in their menu telling diners that not everyone may like the taste of bak kut teh ice cream.
