A WOMAN in India abducted a baby boy from a hospital by hiding him in a bag, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The incident in Tamil Nadu was revealed after the newborn’s mother, identified only as Chenna, 20, found her three-day old son missing from her bedside upon waking up on Wednesday morning. She then called out for help.

Hospital workers and police checked the hospital’s surveillance footage and found that a woman, accompanied by a young boy, had entered the ward and left with a bag.

Police tracked her down and found the baby, who was returned to his parents the following day.

A follow-up probe led police to arrest six more people believed to be involved in a baby adoption plot.
