Fire razes double-storey clinic in Penang


GEORGE TOWN: A late afternoon fire caused 80% damage to a local clinic here on Sunday (Aug 4).

The Penang Fire and Rescue Department said it received a report of the fire along Jalan Tan Sri Teh Ewe Lim in Taman Sri Damai, Jelutong at around 4.16pm.

"When we responded to the call and reached the location, we found that a double-storey clinic was on fire.

"The fire broke out on the upper floor and damaged 80% of the property.

"The fire also affected the next door building and its upper floor was 20% burnt," it said in a statement today.

No casualties were reported in the incident.
